Editorial: SmokinGrunt's Wildcard Weekend Playoff Picks

Alright, let's have some fun with these. For the first game Seattle and Washington, I'm taking the Redskins by 5. I like the way the Skins have really tied together after the loss of a teammember, they are very hot right now, with 4 wins in a row, as well. I like to see them reach past the Seahawks in the 3rd quarter, with excellent running and a strong "D", and win by a touchdown or two.

In the second game I'd like to see the Pittsburgh team blow away the Jaguars early in the first half. I like Roethlisberger to throw early to keep the Jags defense on the run. Jacksonville could come on strong late in the 3rd or 4th quarter, but I see the Steelers being able to stop a late charge, and I believe they will go on to win by 3. I predict a strong showing of both the Steeler offense and the Jacksonville "D".

In the Sunday games, I like the Giants over the Bucs, fo sho. The Giants have been a little rusty lately, but I believe Manning will step up his game in his Sunday showing. Tampa Bay has had a great team this year, but I believe that the pressure of a Playoff game will get to them and rattle them up. I like the Bucs to play hard, but I don't see any late spurts of greatness from them. I take the Giants by 7.

In the final Wildcard Weekend game I see the the San Diego Chargers and the Tennessee Titans battling for a good while. I think the Chargers got this game down. Yet, something tells me that the Titans will not be letting them have this game easily. I like the way the Titans had beaten the Colts last week, but I still see Tomlinson running all over the field. I'd like to see this game drag on, and come to a close call in the end, maybe by a field goal or an offside kick. I still like the Chargers by 2.

Well sit back and enjoy the best part of the year in my mind, and I'll try to lay of the beer, wait not even.
