News: Cowboys Control Their Own Destiny For Playoffs

IRVING – As badly as they felt as they walked up the Texas Stadium tunnel one last time, with legends flanked to either side, Saturday night, the Cowboys felt as happy as they could Sunday.

And they have the San Diego Chargers to thank.

Norv Turner made his most important contribution to the Cowboys since coordinating the offense during back-to-back Super Bowl seasons in 1992-93 when he coached San Diego to a 41-24 victory over Tampa Bay.

As a result, the Cowboys know if they win next Sunday at Philadelphia, they will make their third straight trip to the playoffs. Lose and they are finished, with possible major changes coming in the off-season.

The Cowboys have won in two of their last three trips to Lincoln Financial Field, and are 7-6 in December games at Philadelphia.

But at least the Cowboys have a pulse. . .
